Arsenal Women – Structure, governance and matchday issues

The AST was pleased to attend the first joint session of the Arsenal Advisory Board (AAB) and the Women's Matchday Forum on Tuesday 22 April.

The AST submitted a number of agenda items around the future structure of the women’s game – covering governance, competitions and finances - to form a discussion about the future of the women's game.

You can read our submission to the AAB which includes the results of the AST membership survey here. AST Position Paper on Future of Women's Game.pd

A summary of the subsequent meeting has been added to the Arsenal website and can be found here.

The AST was pleased that Arsenal responded positively to our request to organise this meeting and then engage in a constructive manner on many issues that affect Arsenal Women.

The Club noted that there were a number of ongoing conversations within the Women's Super League about the future of the game, but that no decisions had been made and it was good to be able to present the views of AST members to them.

The AST will continue to work closely with Arsenal and other stakeholders on the women’s game such as the FSA to ensure that fan interests are represented and accounted for.
